What Does the "p" Mean?

Why Black Bars Appear

For photo editing, 4K is the minimum though color accuracy matters more than raw resolution. Video editing works best when you match your output resolution (edit 4K on a 4K screen). Graphic design benefits from 4K or 5K for detail work, while web design is fine at 1440p as long as you test at multiple resolutions.

For Office Work

A single monitor at 1440p gives you noticeably more screen real estate than 1080p. For dual monitors, two 1080p or 1440p displays work well. An ultrawide at 3440x1440 can replace dual monitors entirely.

For Streaming Content

Netflix, YouTube, and other services scale with your internet speed. 4K streaming requires about 25 Mbps, 1080p needs around 5 Mbps, and 720p works at just 2.5 Mbps. If your internet is slow, higher resolution content will buffer.
